Invalid Install Path
Is anyone else getting an error when trying to preload saying Invalid Install Path? I can install other Steam games to the directory I'm trying to use, but Civ 6 doesn't seem to want to use it. Any ideas?

Just covering the basics but - you made sure there's enough room for the full install on the drive?

Thank you for the reply, yes, there's plenty of space. Its a new SSD with several other Steam games loaded on it.

So I need to wait until its unlocked to install it where I want? That seems incredibly stupid.

Thank you for the info.

I have the same problem and I agree that's incredably stupid. Steam is desigend to use multipile librarys - I have 5 Librays on 5 HDs - so why would pre install not use them? Lazy programmers?

Note the game is not in your library

Its the preload cached portion that is on the default steam install. When you begin the install it will go to the default library that is specified in the config. But the pre-load, which isn't a game but the cached data goes where steam itself is installed

Note steam doesn't do pre-loads for many games, like maybe a dozen a year if that. So making changes on that front probably isnt super high priority
