So now 2k has a launcher

What is your experience with the launcher? I think I will not buy Civ 6 because of it as I avoid the most games from EA and Ubisoft for the same reason.

You can easily bypass the launcher (there's plenty of tutorials explaining how to do it), that's what I do. It will save you time and trouble.

Closer to 4, or likely more than 4 years now. I think it happened in early to mid 2018. I may go do some searching to find out.

The launcher has been around for a very long time. When I got Civ 5 (physical copy), the launcher was there.

The launcher is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!! Game constantly crashes on me, I've never been able to finish a single game of Civ 6

And I and a bunch of others have no problems at all with launcher or anything else but you could try changing the multi threading per Jaerv's thread about fixing the freezing and crashing.

Doubt the Civ devs are the ones working on the launcher. It is a 2k launcher, and not limited to Firaxis games, so likely 2k has their own devs working on it.

Other than getting random crashes on an unmodded game, I just now got emailed from 2K being told they had some information leaked on Sep19th

So another reason these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ launchers need to go away, they can't even keep the data they swipe from us secured.
