And for 2k it's ok to bypass the launcher? Or do they work against it?
Closer to 4, or likely more than 4 years now. I think it happened in early to mid 2018. I may go do some searching to find out.

O, wow. I had the launcher disabled for a while .... but so long?
The launcher is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!! Game constantly crashes on me, I've never been able to finish a single game of Civ 6
Doubt the Civ devs are the ones working on the launcher. It is a 2k launcher, and not limited to Firaxis games, so likely 2k has their own devs working on it.
So another reason these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ launchers need to go away, they can't even keep the data they swipe from us secured.
