AI offers bad deals for my great works every turn
I get offered a bad deal from an AI civilization almost every turn. It's always "Hey trade me your holy relic for my coffee and a few gold." And the next turn, a different civilization says "Hey trade me your two great works of art for some of my coal and horses." Over and over and over and over with slight variations.

I really got worn out, rejecting their dumb offers, hundreds of times.

Has anyone else experienced this? I was playing as Sweden on a standard game with level 6 difficulty and the new expansion with no mods.

The AI has always been like this. And the less they like you, the worse the offered deal is. I think they only time I've even gotten an offer for an even piece of art for piece of art swap was with a civ I had an alliance with for pretty much three straight eras.
Talesin Feb 17, 2019 @ 12:30pm
Yeah, I have yet to get a good offer despite being allied with all the nearby civs and friends with almost everyone else.
Its even worse when you are also in a war and the AI spams you with offers for your great works and your iron/niter/horses which you are using to build units.

Honestly, with the new DLC you need an auto reject button or a way to show what you are willing to trade, so that the AI doesn't keep spamming you with crappy offers constantly.

That also includes peace offers.
AI kept sending me a peace offering "letting" me keep the city i conquered, but refused to even give up the other city nearby, or giving me any other incentive to agree to peace.
After all that city was just on another continent from the AIs main cities and armies, i had it completly surrounded and had killed all the defending armies, and it was just a question about time before my catapults would take down the rest of its defenses.
Not to mention Genghis Khan was my ally and stomping him on his home continent.

So they really should do something about it, as you spend way to much time clicking the reject offer button.

Two simple QoL fixes for this game would be:
Being able to mark something as a thing you don't want to trade. IE diplomatic favor, or something else.

And also making it so the AI doesn't try and do trades that are literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pointless, excuse my french. The only time the AI should try and get 2 horse from you is if they absolutely need it to pump out a unit in a war time situation.

The 5 gold for 2 horse trades are infuriating. I don't know how that kind of stuff got past and QA

What I'd really like is a way to disable deal offers from the AI, except for joint wars.

They've always been wonky but they got a ton worse with GS.

I really do not understand how V's perfectly fine system of '1 luxury for 1 luxury' and other simple, fair deals was replaced by a deals system that seems purely random and only got worse over time...

its suprising what they'll pay for if you try upping the gold/turn. my best deal was 75gold/turn for 1 horse or something silly like that. what an idiot.. musta really needed that horse.

I guess there are bugs in the code. I've had AI saying it is unwilling to trade and then when I add half of the AIs wealth it is satisfied. They also seem to ask riddicilous 1-2 horse trades and then offer them back.

Because AI is imbecile in civ6.

Yes! This is driving me crazy! The AI nags me every turn with laughable deals for my great works. No means no!

I'm currently researching nuclear weapons. After I get one, the next person that asks me for one of my artworks ...

But seriously, I would love a patch that incorporates what Talesin suggested above: A way to flag items that you refuse to trade. Or maybe someone can make a mod that does that?

Some deals are also just.. Unexplainable.
1 of the AI's city and a luxury in trade for 5 of my cities and 1 of *each* of my luxuries.. What?! Who would ever agree to that?

Are you by chance playing with the "Art of the Deal" mod installed? :steamhappy:
