Can't make trade routes
I'm playing Gathering Storm with Mansa Musa and i can't make trade routes over 15 tiles. My traders start in capital and can't use friendly trading posts reaching further. If i move traders to other citites same thing happens. I have checked world congress and there seems to be nothing to prevent trade.

Also yesterday when playing with Poundmaker i conquered all Lautaro's cities. Cities kept their loyalty disadvantage from occupying even if i destroyed whole nation.

Bugs or am i doing something wrong?

Yes, that is by design. Traders have a range. When they complete a trade route, they make a trading station. That acts as a range extender (among other things), if a new trade route passes through it. So you need to think ahead with which trade routes you make, and how that might extend your range.

Like this

Distance from city A to city C 24 tiles. Can't make trade route.

Distance from city A to to B 12 tiles. Can make trade route.

Distance from City B to City C 14 tiles.

Makes trade route between City A and B. Completes trade route, and gets tradings station.

Trade route from City A to City C THROUGH B is now possible. Works as selecting City A to City C.

Once trade route from City A to City C is complete, another trading station as made in City C, which can then extend to City D.

Sorry english isn't my native language so my writing might be hard to understand, but i tried to say that i have trading posts in relevant citites. I'm puzzled because it has been working like you descriped before Gathering Storm.

Yes, the part with the "friendly trading posts" is confusing, because it sounds like they belong to someone else.

If the trading posts are yours, and you are SURE, that the trade route SHOULD pass through them, then I don't really know why that would happen.

If it's the loyalty penalty from grievances that you're talking about, it's a bug. It's listed as "Occupation (Grievances with city founder)". If you destroy a Civ, the penalty just get stuck there. I have two cities I conquered from a Civ I eliminated, both have a -10 loyalty penalty that don't go away. It's better to avoid eliminating Civs while they don't fix it, unless you think you can take the penalty. I only kept my cities because I got a golden age in time to save it, now I have the Statue of Liberty there.

So the workaround would be to reduce the enemy civ to it's worst city, or those you want the least. Then make peace, and they can keep that.

I have the penalty at -7, maybe it vanishes over time when they forget about the war?

The penalty is based on how much grievances the city founder have against you, so it vanishes when the founder have no more grievances. If you eliminate the leader, his grievances won't fade anymore, so it just stay there.
