Yes. Harvest it first if you want to use it for quick resources.

Yes. It's also always more valuable to harvest one of the production resources or woods/rainforest than it is to dump a district on it. They will more than pay for the production cost of the builder while only using a single charge of it. The food ones will typically give about 1 population to the city instantly as well, so they're worth it too.

Okay thank you

One thing to note though is that if a district or city center is on a strategic resource that you find later in the game it will give you that resource.

If I build a Campus on a Marsh tile giving 3 Food per turn, will I lose the Food? Or does it keep providing AS WELL as getting a campus? Tnaks!

Tile yields are not granted by districts. District buildings provide specialist slots instead.

So the yield of food (or whatever) will still remain? I don't want to harvest the tile.

No, it will not remain. Harvest will get you the one time boost, otherwise you just lose it completely.

Let me make it a bit clearer if I may, the only time a district provides any resources other than those stipulated by the district's name is when that district was already built before you discovered the technology that reveals a strategic resource and that resource is located on the tile that contains a district. All other resources disappear from the tile in which a district is built including preexisting strategic resources, so if that's the only iron you've got building a district probably isnt a good idea.

Revealed strategic resources block placement of districts, just as luxuries do, and districts built on subsequently-revealed strategics do not remove them—there is just no yield from the tile. Check the tool tip and the resource’s persistence is evident.

The strategic will still be tracked in Standard or accrue in the other rulesets.

The only resources that can be removed are bonus resources, unless a mode is active.
