Niter Bug
I'm not sure what triggered the glitch, but I was playing as the Maori on a Marathon length game on a Huge map at Warlord difficulty. After unlocking niter I started stockpiling it. However, the moment the stockpile would reach 60 niter all but 5 of it would be instantly deleted from my stockpile making the training of musketmen next to impossible (I did find that I could reach 60 niter if I traded for the resource from the AI, but I couldn't mine it on my own). Nothing was using the 55 niter, it was simply gone. This happened three times.

Stockpiling - Is this a new mechanic of GS? In R&F you setup mines and each mine was one niter. 60 niters? is that 60 mines?

ohhhhh boy, i think i'm bout ta' learn something… ''stockpile'' you say? I'm mid game (lil after turn 100) and have 1 city with access to niter (bout to place a mine on it). I figured I'd just upgrade all my warriors to musketmen, build a coupla bombards n take out 3 of the remaining 4 other civs. You tellin me i gotta stockpile it? like...1 mone on the stuff isn't gonna be enough right away? (this game's strat resources sitch seemed a lil unusual to begin with, since only 1 civ got a single iron, and even that pretty late…)

P.S playing vanilla :)

Yes. And no 60 is not the amount of mines, but the amount of niter he has right now. Every mine gives an amount per turn. So you accumulate.

Ahh! Sorry if this is a spoiler for you guys. They've retooled how you gather resources. Each tile seems to provide a certain amount of a single resource (To stick with the niter analogy, all of my niter mines provided +2 niter per turn, I had three of them). Over time it automatically adds the value to your stockpile like getting gold per turn or faith and so on and different units cost different amounts (Caravels cost 20 niter, musketmen 60 and so on).

If you're in the mid-game you should already have seen the stockpiling mechanic with horses and iron, @OnceUponaTime.

I am playing a game right now where Niter seems to be very scarce. I have no niter in my territory. I cannot see any Niter on the map anywhere in my field of view. I have looked at the stockpiles of all the other civs and only one civ has niter, 3 units of niter. That's it! I am in desperate need of the stuff too as I am playing as the ottomans and it is time to upgrade to Jannisary and Great Bombards!
