CIV 6: The Abandoned and Let-Down Edition
To say that Civ 6 was a ship taking on water when it was first released wouldn't be fair. I had so much hope in this game and followed nearly every news post looking for any updates.

I was 10 years old with a huge imagination when I played Civ 1 in 1991. I loved everything about it! Then came Civ 2 which introduced multiplayer and my friends and I had a blast at that age creating and imagining new worlds. Every introduction of the series from then on was more about the power and encouragement of that imaginative nature and experiencing more and more complex adversaries. So much fun!

Then... Civ 6. Like I said, so hopeful. The ship first sprang a leak when they decided to open the game up to consoles and tablets as they tried to gain a hold on a new market, which I get. However, instead of dumb'ing down tablet versions to play a game designed for PC they created a game made for tables and sold to loyal fans who use the PC. The biggest draw backs were the lack of modding features, map sizes, and undeniably poor stability. They basically pulled a Ghandi on the imagination and excitement true fans in exchange for a short-term profit, only made more evident when they introduced their subscriptions. Not to mention that DEV's never listened to the community, were out-of-touch, and clearly didn't care.

Honestly, CIV 6 could have been great! So many enjoyable features and fresh ideas (though I found it cartoon-ish many like it and to each their own on that one which is another benefit of MOD friendly games). For these reasons, I feel this ship sank years ago and I just refused to let it go. I guess I'll be keeping to HOI4, EU4, and others which are still making games for the people who play them.

No one asked for my thoughts on this, but there you have them. I'm very sorry if you disagree and I do respect your own opinion which is equally valid and justified.... Because its a game!!!

Like we still have people working on civ v outside of the Modding community? the game is no more abandoned than five or any of the others. They've begun work on 7. I'm hoping they go back to the kiss principle for this one. The currently available AI simply isn't good enough to handle 20 civs and 30 odd city states on a large map in any amount of time players are willing to set still for.

I don't find your post to be shipshape.
I can't quite put my spyglass on what bothers you. You briefly mention mods and map size, is this still the case, or was it just the case on release? How did the devs not listen to the gamers? Why do you say the game is abandoned?

Might want to anchor your argument until you patch up those leaks.
