Can any unit fortify a city and give a bonus?
I have multple policies that give bonuses if I fortify a unit in a city.
I have a warrior fortified in one and i'm in the information era.

Will it still count? Dont have the money to upgrade it.

It should yield the standard bonus not that such will matter much, Its still just a speed bump for almost any information era military unit. Out of curiosity what does it cost to Upgrade a Warrior to mech Infantry?

It's still count.

Yes, any military unit counts. I believe naval units count too, but I can't remember for sure.

If you're that far into the game without upgrading I think deleting that unit and producing a new one might be better than spending money on upgrading.

Outside of city combat strength, it does not matter what type of unit or how strong that unit is. Scouts are the same as GDRs.

Correct those cards will effect the city combat stregth if there is a unit in garrison no matter what the garrison unit is. On the other hand anythjng still in the city when it is over run dies with it,

All you really need to know is the fortification value the city gets is the melee strength of the unit plus the fortify over time bonus.

Clearly early units have less melee strength. Also ranged units who have strong ranged attack will only get their weaker melee value.

Hes talking about military cards that yield a defense bonus to cities with a garrison. Not being familiar with those cards I don't know how that particular bonus works.

What are the bonus and what are the cards? The wiki doesn't show them?
