The game itself is stable as hell whenever you actually get a game going, but startup is a gamble.
First thing, if you haven't done so, is to look up one of the 'launcher broke the game' threads and follow the instruction to bypass the launcher. It's simply adding a line of text to the launch properties. I had a ton of issues like most here, and after adding the bypass, I haven't had any issues. Just completed my third huge map game with the new and improved Canada and Urban Complexity mods. Smooth as glass.
They need to be more mindful of the people that actually buy their games, not whatever ignorant board-meeting decision they made that thought it would boost sales or whatever.
Thanks to the OP for posting this hot, hot take. The other two dozen threads complaining about this didn't seem suitable.
Still, as you say, there are a ton of other similar threads already, so didn't really need a new one. On the flip side, it wasn't a mystery what this thread would be about and could be easily skipped if desired.
Because *obviously* the launcher has higher system requirements than the game itself, and that's the issue. Launcher's unstable due to poor design? lol download more ram about it
