How does SAM (anti-air defense) work?
Hey how does anti-air defence work? We played hotseat with my friend and I had my SAM fortified in my capital city. He then nuked it, and even tho it says that it defends against nuclear and air attacks, the nuke hit and destroyed my city. So how does it work? It was done by a bomber.

Air defence is not perfectly reliable, AFAIK.

Since I have yet to play a game where the AI built a plane, who knows.

It "should" shoot at the aircraft doing the bombing. Now if it does not do enough damage to kill the plane the bombing continues. Normally takes 2 or 3 hits depending on difficulty and such.

Wouldn't be shocked if the "nukes ignore air defense" bug carried over from Civ 5.
