Can't build medieval walls?
I switched to Monarchy to get the housing bonus even though I still had to build the medieval walls. I have them unlocked in tech tree and also ancient walls in all of my city yet I have no option to build the medieval walls. What am I missing?

Have your cities been attacked recently? If so if the walls are damaged there is a 3 turn delay before you can repair them or build the next tier. Could be related to this somehow or a bug in the system.

I've recently ended a double war that lasted forever but they never actually hit my cities.
are you the lord of a city state who has this bonus : "you can only buy wall with faith" ?

How about Encampments? They are tied into the walls as well and I think if they are damaged it is classed as the actual city walls as needing to be repaired. There does seem to be some issues here as many posts are made about it so hopefully in time the problem will be found and then sorted out.

This seems to be my issue, I did not notice that, thanks. :D

Well, I thought that was my issue. I am suzerain of Valetta who has this bonus, but walls do not show up as an option even though I am able to buy other buildings with faith for my city district. :(
well, i don't know then :(
Maybe they were destroy in war, even if i never had this situation yet. Have you look to your project ? (rebuild wall is a project i think, like campus research).
Sry for my english btw ;)

As I said before, they never even hit any of my cities, nor any districts. I just finished the game so I guess it doesn't bother me any more until it maybe happens in my next game. I was able to build them, but didn't, before I switched governments to the one that needed them. I forgot to check if they were still unavailable after I switched to another one. ><

Good lord, why is that a "perk"?
it is a perk. It's cheap, instant, and you can even buy other building for your city district, which is great to accelerate a new born city of yours ;)
oh, maybe you had hit the point where walls became obsolete ?

I haven't dabbled in faith much so to me that looked like a major setback haha

I know that's a thing in Civ V but I hadn't even unlocked renaissance walls yet so it would seem weird that walls would already be obsolete?
they become obsolete when you discover civil engineering in the civic tree.
If it's not this too, i don't see why, but all work fine with me ^^

I guess that's possible, I'd check if I hadn't already won and forgot to save after winning. It feels weird though that you can make walls obsolete before you even unlock all of them.
