It takes too long to build anything
Districts cost too much and it takes like 40 turns for a wonder wtf. In Modern era too.

Build industrial zones. Factory and powerplant production bonuses stack in a radius of six tiles around the district, so if you aren't too spread out, you can get a lot of production out of them.

Even still it takes like 30 to 40 turns on quick speed.

you have very low production then.

policy cards can give you a boost, and builders can clear forests or stone and things to give you a production boost that gets better the latter you get in the game.

yup takes too long for anything

30 to 40 turns on quick speed? you're doing something wrong

you can also put a trader on the city and let them trade to a city with a lot of +production.
this can give you also a small but nice boost.

the game has serious issues but you failing at managing the cities is not one of them

internal trade routes are key. remeber that to recive the effects form the trade route, you have to start the trader in the city you want ot get the production (+other yields bonus).

Also get triangle trade so internal trade routes also generate GPT
good point. Commercial hub alsot increase the trade route cap by one, so build those on the faster end and coiinsider just buying traders. easily pays for itself over the course of the game.

Cut down any and all forests, rain forests marsh and jungle that should help some. They don't even need to be in your borders or near them. Just as long as that is YOUR closest city to them it will count. Even if a city state or another civ is closer than your city YOU will still get the resources.

Btw marsh gives you food. Jungle gives food and wood.

For a game that is advertised to let you find your own way of building an empire (without one correct path) this is really something.
Managed to have one city with all the possible +hammers cards, communism, 3 factories bonus and Ruhr and it still barely chugged along (10 or so turns per unit). Meanwhile my other cities would take 60 to build basic stuff. It was not fun to wait a hundred or so turns to get the science victory.
Why did they make it so that the more techs/civics you have, the more production it takes to build things?

I guess they figure the longer along the trees you are, you are bound to have more cities up pumping out things and most land unlocked and the tiles all improved.

I changed my builders to have 999 charges as well as 4 movement and also changed forests and all hills to give base 2 production and still it goes slow. This is due to the fact borders go so slow unless you buy them outright and not to forget to mention the lost tiles to districts.

The only way you can really get anything done is by cutting every tree/jungle and marsh you see and spam those traders.

I notice when you start a new game after playing the game get bugs like this and it saves this bug as well, maybe that is his problem.

I completely agree. It takes way too long to build anything in "Quick" pace. The game is so much slower than Civ 5 because it takes my cities so long to build stuff. Especially later in the game when I would think production would be ramping up, but no, everything takes longer later in the game. It really slows down the pace of the game when units go from 2-3 turns to 10-12 turns in later eras. I was trying to get a science victory. I completed Future Tech several times before I was able to complete a space port because it took me 40+ turns to do so. I had a religion focusing on production, I had maxed manufacturing districts in several cities, a production wonder. It took so long I ended up buying religious units and converted a continent on the other side of the world faster than I could build a spaceport and one spaceship piece. I miss the old "Quick" pace... it was quicker than this internet quick option as well, which I'm not sure does anything different than regluar slow quick.

I'm not the only one here, my other friends who play have also mentioned this is so far their biggest problem with the game... WAY TOO SLOW!!!!
