have you tried pressing the button to quit?
Have to close it via task manager on a second monitor. I suspect those with a single monitor will have to restart.
Doesn't work, that or using taskbar and x-ing civ6. Only way I can get it to close is via forced exit from task manager.
Yeh..
Argument is put forward that this is or was caused by Windows Defender. Or Nvidia Overlays.
You can disable overlays through your nvidia settings, update Windows Defender and that'll be fixed as well.
If you're still having the problem, either Ctl Alt Del, then tell pc to restart, should safely shutdown Civ and reboot. Don't use taskmaster to endtask as this can corrupt civ files. Causing you to reinstall. (Verify Integrity doesn't always work)
Also on Win10 can use Windows+Tab key to open new desktop, drag the game window into it, then close it.
Don't do this. Update Windows Defender Virus Definitions. And the problem will be fixed. Adding manual changes to Anti Virus protection is leaving the door open to hackers.
