ho hum . . have to wait for the dumb Ai to think about getting a Great Architect then . . the game will be over by then . . I'm already curb stomping them. It gets too easy and predictable.
:)
Definitely gets too easy and predictable. I feel like the first 100 turns are the most stressful because the AI has so many bonuses and leads with unit parity, but then it is over once you hit Industrial Era. Hopefully it is fixed.
Yeah . . it's probably better suited for multiplayer.
My game was over at turn 100 - playing on Prince/Epic/Huge with full Ai. I'm going through the motions at the minute just to finish the game. Playing for full Domination now and it's just too easy. I'm literally city hopping across the map now.
Oh - may as well mention it while we are on the subject of [bug]s etc - but every time I take a city now, I pick up another Redcoat - I have soooooo many now it's not even funny. Free Uber unit every time I take another city with the rest of previous free uber units. Tis a joke lads!
But ho hum . . drink up me hearties, yo ho!
Troll or serious..can't tell, but I'll bite!
Playing on "Prince" and then complains it's too easy and needs to be "fixed"...
Ofcourse it's easy! King in CiVI is the Prince of CiV in terms of difficulty. You were effectivly playing on Warlord! :)
Try upping 1-2 difficulties and maybe it's not over at 100 turns, or not... then again you say bug to a stated mechanic of the civ of your choice so I'd wager it won't end at 100 turn at King immortal unless you play duel->small pangea or even standard pangea.
There was no challenge in it anymore after that, I was simply going through the motions. That however was the point - i.e. to get a reasonably good feel of the game and it's quirks before I think of investing major time into it. It's a good strategy. It gives you time to learn the ropes as it were.
With regard to England's free unit - yes, I am aware that it is a 'perk' of that nation, it is however stupidly over powered. You effectively have almost exponential growth of your fighting force. As soon as you tech to Recoats, and you start your invasion, cities crumble . . and you get free units and more cities fall and you get free units . .
I know it's not a bug. Like the Great Person 'bug' that I started this topic regarding. It's a game mechanic of the game but with regards to the Great Person one, it's a bad mechanic. Finishing that game took me to the modern age before I could buy a Great Engineer and slowed a lot of items down. Lesson learnt . .
:) have fun . .
Is this definitely not a bug and working as intended?
I as the Congo have to endure endless unused great artists loitering in my cities because if I had passed on them to wait for the great sculptor I really wanted I would have been punished by never receiving another artist until the AI first earns (and claims) the artist I passed on 10s if not 100s of turns ago?
Kind of weird for me. You pass and it costs you points, the points you spend act as a discount for the next player. Sounds like charity. Only problem I have is if you are generating lots of points you end up with great people you can't use anywhere or not for a very long time. I end up using them as explorers as they regenerate if killed.
