shortcuts won't work after a while

am i the only one who experiences that keyboard shortcuts won't work anymore after the game is running for a while?

I have the same issue here. Keyboard shortcuts stop working after two or three turns. I have to restart the game to make it work again... strange...

Sometimes when I start a game the keyboard doesn't work, other times it works fine. When the keyboard doesn't work, the enter key still works to end turn, but that's it.

Is this resolved or are they taking away keyboard shortcuts? Call me old fashioned, at least the numpad should work for moving.

Could something have enabled the capitals lock key, that might stop keyboard shortcoats if they are case dependent.

I have no trouble using the number key shortcuts for a long time. i.e. 1 = Religions lens, 4 = Settlers lens, etc. I do not normally use the letter key shortcuts, except by mistake.

Are you talking about the default shortcuts or some Mod or varint of them?

For me the hotkeys stop working if I alt-tab or shift-tab. Go ahead and alt-tab out and in again, and you should be fine.

so, a lot of time passed and i still experience the issue that the hotkeys stop working. Alt-Tabbing doesn't fix it. It always happens to me if i use one of the buttons on the right-down side of the screen (Next turn/Select next unit).

Two years later, still a problem. Firaxis never fixes bugs, they release expansions with a years' worth of patches built in. Probably if I bought the DLCs the keys would all work fine.

If you're looking at the Steam overlay while playing the game then that's the problem. It doesn't detect that you have released Shift and so it thinks you're pressing Shift+key for shortcuts, which are undefined. You can resolve the bug by pressing Shift while the overlay is gone, which will get it to register that Shift is no longer held.

Still happens for me. Every time, I try pressing shift, alt, ctrl, caps lock. Nothing fixes it except restarting the game.

I always suffered by this symptom.
Maybe it can be solved by Using 'ENG/KOREAN ALTERING KEY'(Or other language).
I think ' alt+tab, CAPSLOCK, changing language on keyboard are related in this prob '
