Science Victory Takes So Long
So far I have won the game on Domination and Culture. Needless to say domination is the easiest win condition as it requires nothing more than conquest. Funny thing is science victory is so damn hardcore tedious. I won through culture despite going insane science production, facepalm. The thing is I have so much science I end up endlessly researching future science since there is nothing left. The catch is science victory is more of production victory than anything else. Even at end game close to 400 turn with no score victory allowed this is crazy. I built 1 spaceport (I didn't know how it works exactly so I did not build more to start with). And I need to launch rocket, and launch 3 more times with each of these actions causing me 60 turns each. Dear god. Due to random reasons I do not have crazy production cities going insane gold, science. I got so bored I go around tossing nukes every single AI city for fun. I nuke so hard by screwing up their city, I won by cultural victory ... Even if I persisted with the damn project it would take me 100 more turns for everything to be launched. Dear god. Sigh.... now I know what must be done to get science victory. Pretty much every win condition comes down to DOMINATION. You need to win by science? Nuke them back to stone age. You need to win by culture? Nuke them back to stone age. You need to win by religious victory? Keep your city religious and nuke them off planet earth. NUKE SOLVES EVERYTHING. I UNDERSTAND HOW GHANDI FEELS NOW.

yeah same here i won on culture first attempt at science. second attempt was easy 2 space ports and save to buy the late game engineers for space production all done by turn 350 ish terrible score though. (lots of fun with spies in that game though)

I spent my time throwing nukes everywhere for no reason... Next time I will build 3 space stations in max production cities, cutting down tress, space race civic and all that crap.

Yeah literally won culture 1 turn before the final mars launch and I speced for the space race. Things definitely need some tweaking.

Culture is pretty easy I feel like. I can't comment on religion yet but I think my strategy will work
1. Have your empire believe in your religion
2. Declare war and stomp on any foreign religions units
3. Nuke the rest of the world to oblivion
4. Convert the last capital/city of the last surviving civ and you win...
5. Unnecessarily violent and brutal but I still win.

for religion, why not givethem loads of your own religious cities?

under advanced settings, set planet age to new, gives lots of hills etc. I did science vic without redoing globalisation more than 4-5 times. On marathon speed tho.

3 space centers, in 15+ cities with plenty of hills, industrial districts all maxed. Takes the modules down to about 20 turns can do all 3 at once. easy peesy.
Rather than Repeating future tech 500 times the science should go towards research for improving certain tile yields and making the science parts go faster. We need more science that can improve tiles that are normally not very useful like normal coast/tundra/snow/desert and possibly some terraforming tiles options open up for builders rather than "future tech" spamming nonsense it wouldn't be that hard to implement better tile yields since it is on so many techs already.

I've found you need to rush a science victory or you'll win a cultural victory. Multiple Spaceports help, but high production and high ammenities are the keys to success.
Just play on Delty-Difficult. You won't have lot's of time for culture. BTW the particular Great Engineers and Great Scientists give major boosts towards space projects (they deliver productivity for about one and a half projects each). If you have the productivity to produce endless nukes, then you could easily get the projects as well.
