Does Grievances with city founder loyalty modifer ever go away?
I surprise attacked someone during the medieval ages and took some of their cities, and now even into the modern ages I'm getting -6.5 to loyalty constantly nd it says "Occupation: Grievances with city founder" I've been through 2 golden ages and more and am still barely able to hold these cities because of this modifier, does it never ever go away?

The grievances should eventually go back to 0, after you make peace, unless you are causing new ones. Once they're at 0, or if you have grievances towards the founder, it should nullify the loyalty penalty. Alternatively you can just wipe out that civ entirely.

Have you checked to see how many grievances you have with them? Grievances don't just disappear after a war, they slowly drain away, and they drain slower with each age. However, if you completely kill them off, you will have 0 grievances with them as they will be dead and you get to keep all of their cities.

Depending how many cities you are occupying, if one of them is their original capital, and what game era it is, grievances can continue increasing with no additional acts on your part. So they don't necessarily always just drain away.

AFAIK that's only possible in the future era, where the decay is -2/turn. How many cities you're occupying doesn't matter, the decay penalty for occupying normal cities is always +1, and +3 if you occupy their capital. So if you occupy a capital in the future era, then your grievances will increase by +1. From the ancient to the atomic, it will always decay by at least -1, as long as you're at peace with that Civ.
