Volcano animation
Has it been fixed (as of today), or I am simply having good luck? All my volcanoes seem to be working as expected (fingers crossed).

When I first started playing the volcanoes erupted without fail but lately the graphics of an eruption aren't working. They will sometimes work at the beginning of the game but eventually the graphics stop and there is no longer any magma coming from the volcano. Can anyone help to get my volcano graphics to work again? Thanks!

Oh the same goes with the flood walls too.

Sometimes if you are graphics-limited, the eruptions simply shake and no fire. I find that if I reboot, the volcanoes work fine.

Yeah restarting the game fixes it, albeit temporarily. And no, what I thought in this old thread of mine wasn't true. The bug persists and frankly I don't think it will be fixed ever. I believe it has to do with the Apocalypse mode because the bug started happening about the time that was released.
A lot of people think it isn't a big deal, and perhaps it isn't, but the disaster animations were one of the things I really liked of the game.

Rebooting helps for awhile but it still reverts back to no magma and no flood walls. When I first purchased the game I had no issue. It has only started in the past month or so. I too am thinking this is a problem that will never get fixed, which is a shame because the animation was one of the things I really liked too.

I'm not sure if I have hit onto something, or only have been lucky. In my current game I'm into the Renaissance and the animations haven't disappeared once. What I have done different is let all the Disaster and Wonder cutscenes play out until they stop rotating (or until the guy stops talking and the building is done, for wonders).

Nah reinstalling does not fix the problem.

Are there ways to revert back to previous versions of the game?

No it's not been fixed and won't ever be,there's no need since they already got your money.

OK what I posted in #6 wasn't it, but at least I think I have it figured out. Reloading the game for any reason (new game, loading a previous save, restarting, etc.) will cause the bug. It can affect one or more disasters, be it volcano, drought, flooding, etc. The only fix is to get out to desktop and enter the game again. As long as you have not left a game session, the animations will not get bugged. So, when you need to restart, load a save, etc. consider that the animations in your game will probably get bugged. If you want to avoid that, you need to get out of the game completely before loading a save, new game, etc. Or, do your reload and then go to desktop.
Actually although turned-off volcanoes are the most annoying aspect of the bug, I find that turned-off droughts are the most damaging, because you can't see the affected tiles (they look normal).
