Which mods did you add and which ones do you have installed? Turn them all off except the new ones, then start a new game and see if they work. If not, contact the mod authors. If so, add the other mods in until something stops working.

I added a bunch of sukriact mods for ui like colorized historical moments and detailed map tacks. there are two tabs in the mods entry in additional content. these mods are under the "subscription" tab and say installed. so idk what the problem is.

If you start your game by loading a configuration that you made before adding the mods, they will not show up. You need to make a new configuration with the mods enabled

Often overlooked is the fact that if you start a new game using a favored configuration Save (favored civs mix, favored game settings, etc.), then your new game uses the EXACT same collection of enabled mods. So if you added some additional mods since then, they WON'T be in that new game.

Try Creating New Game from total scratch. Manually selct all of the active civs. Manually adjust all of the game settings. Then start the game. Immediately Save. After the Save is concluded and you are returned to the game, go to Save again and examine that most recent Save Game slot. It lists all of the active mods of that new game. If anything you expected to see is missing, go back to the Additional Content mod manager and verify that 1) all of your desired mods are there, 2) that they are all Enabled, and 3) there are no mods shown as being Incompatible.

First off, thank you for your comment. I did this, and the mods are not under the enabled tab at all. they are under the subscriptions tab, where they say they are installed. I am utterly clueless as to what to do. i subscribed to them on steam, and there is no other options or anything im able to do on steam to "download" or anything. they are simply under the subscriptions tab as installed and dont move over to the mods tab no matter what i do. i messaged Sukritact on reddit on a hope and prayer that they answer.

i am so incredibly frustrated i dont know what else to do.

doesnt detailed map tacs and better cards (I assume you have that since you seem to be installing the UI mods potato recommended) have a dependency? They require better reports to work.

Sometimes steam just flat out does not send you the mods. The easiest way to get them to download is to reboot you computer

Well, that was .... interesting. I just looked at my Additional Content.

First , "Installed" is NOT just your mods. Included are the DLCs and Firaxis created Scenarios., as well as the Expansions (They account for about 24 items on the Installed list. Then there are several Incompatible mods that might no longer on Steamworks (or other sources) that nonetheless are still in your Directory's Mods folder. (Not sure about the label or path to wherever it is.)

From what I see in Subscriptions, it seems to me that it contains only those mods that CAN be Unsubscribed on the Additional Content program. I get the feeling that some mods can ONLY be Unsubscribed on Steamworks.

In the Installed section, mods, DLCs, Expansions, and Scenarios can be Enabled and Disabled. So its's possible that you may have some Subscribed mods Installed, but are currently Disabled. (Easy to spot: just look for the red lettering.)

Going over my list, I see that several of the mods that I know I subscribed to are NOT on the list -- nor did they activate when I started my most recent game. Where they went, I have no idea.

Hope this info helps. And also that things sort out to your satisfaction.

Thank you captain patch, for your detailed answer. i see your meaning, and feel the same way about where the heck the mods are going. they are not in the installed tab, therefore i cant enable nor disable them. theyre stuck in the subscriptions tab, with nothing i do being able to move them to the installed tab to be in use for games. i even subscribed to the better mod manager mod hoping to update that mod tab in general, with no luck. i think im going to try to manually download, that seems to be the only thing left for me to do.

Yo. I have been dealing with "mods not loading" for months now and couldn't figure it out. This comment right here is what fixed the issue. I had been loading previously saved advanced game setups and only saw 2 mods every game. Thank you so much for the help :)

So uhhh.... have you found the solution to this problem? I'm running into the same exact issue here ;-:

I just installed Civ 6. I've been playing Civ 5. The mods no longer download like they used to. They appear in the in installed portion of the UI with the option to update and view. If you select update it tells you that the mod is subscribed but not downloaded. This never used to be an issue. What changed? Is there some sort of sync that needs to be physically done. What gives? Bottom line: you can subscribe to all the mods you want but they won't download. Makes them quite useless. Am I right? What is the solution?
