2K Launcher "Cannot Download Updates"

Like the Title says. 2k launcher fails to launch with the error code "Cannot Download Updates". I've tried verifying file integrity and reinstalling the whole game. Neither worked. If I turn my internet off, the game will launch.

my only solution so far has been to disable the network before starting the game. Then once launched, re-enable the network.

I got a response to the support ticket I raised, and a variation on what they recommended worked.

Clear C:/{username}/AppData/Local/T2GP Launcher
Clear C:/{username}/AppData/Roaming/T2GP Launcher
Launch

(Need to have show hidden folders enabled through file explorer options to see AppData)

Delete everything in the folders listed.

it says wrong program file and then when I click ok it says can't update files
