Worth with all the bad rated DLC's?
Hello,

I'm interested in buying the game, but all the DLC's are extremely badly rated. Only a few are average. And i'm not sure that only the base game would be an enjoyable experience.

Is it worth it as a whole to buy the Anthology bundle, or did i come too late to the party and i should wait for another game ?

Thank you

Base game was given away over epic launcher a few months ago

Thank you for your answer, but that doesnt really help.

Is the game worth it with all the bad rated DLC's together, or is it a broken mess and not worth at all ?

DLC reviews tend to be poor simply because the disappointed are inclined to post reviews. The DLC from the New Frontiers Pass introduce factions and game modes. The factions are usually okay but the modes are mostly questionable. Some people consider Gathering Storm to have introduced bugs but most people seem okay.

So yes it is worth the whole bundle if on sale.

This, but in addition the poor reviews tend to stem from the fact that each installment of the New Frontier Pass focuses on one aspect of the game which means only a segment of players will like it. So instead of just waiting for something they do like to come a few months later, a lot of people who didn't get something they wanted post negative reviews.

As someone who plays a lot of the game but not all, I can say everything I've experienced in the small DLCs has been fun for at least a few games, and the stuff I was specifically interested in has become regular additions to almost every game I play.

I'm not interested in scenarios or multiplayer, but I don't complain when the devs take time to add those, like they did a few times in the last year.

Thanks.

I've bought the Antology bundle, because if i see correctly, everything from the New Frontier Pass is in the bundle too.

Avoid now - keeps crashing and AI is braindead. Get Old World or HumanKind instead.

I would hold off as well, a game that you invest hours in and then cant continue playing due to crashes is not worth the time. Wait for a patch for the crashes or a release of the dlls so the combat AI can be fixed.

The base vanilla game is good, in and of itself. If you get bored of the base vanilla game, then buy the all the DLC, preferably as a package deal.

So I havn't really experienced crashes... The game is good, the new civs are good with DLC but the game modes are kind of mediocre at best and game breaking at worse if you are into civ games for playing through history. What I mean by the game modes being thematically game breaking are vampires and zombies in a game thats supposed to reflect some sense of realism
