where to build the damn Dam?
the title is just a play on words trying to be funny :P but I really don't understand where to build the Dam, because I have read in the wiki that a hexagon that is flooded with at least 2 river spaces is necessary, and that's what I think that I have above my commercial center and my religious center, or not? in the end I can't build the Dam anywhere and I don't really understand where I can build it

So, basically you need the proper tiles to be in place, plus make sure there is no other dam on the same river. Checking if it is the same river or not is sometimes important when they are connected. You'll need to hover over the tile and look at river names sometimes.

I think that this tile is the right one, or am i wrong? besides, it is a unique river and only I have control of this, so I am sure that there is no other dam in the river

Hover over that tile and take a screen shot of that tooltip.

I am struggling with this one—off the top of my head, have you checked that the city in question actually owns the tile?

This seems to be a TSL Earth map. Real Earth maps have a problem with floodplains (rivers lack name descriptions, iirc), so the rivers don't flood and you can't build any dams on these maps, including this.
Only Mediterranean map has been built correctly by the devs, and you can build dams there.

Yep! That'd do it.

What gave away that it was a TSL Earth map to you?

Ah, of course. Guess I could have looked a bit closer at that. You can totally see Africa.

And that of course is my real problem with the game ridiculous things like this. First there are three types of dams, flood control, electricity production, and dual purpose. None of them are ever actually built in a flood plain. You need a deep valley to contain the water behind the dam, and flood plains are not noted for deep valleys. There is a reason there is no dam on the Mississippi River - lot's of levees but no dams.
