anyone know what is causing this? also after patch only cant select map to use, and get the exception when launch the game

forgot to mention I tried everything in an earlier message about same type error message issue. Also didnt have this issue until game updated today

This happens to a lot of people at the moment (me included), not known what causes the crash.

click : https://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/requests/new , in the drop down menu select civ 6, and fill out the form.

Mine only crashes when I try to use the tech/civic shuffle.

Crashes at start up
Error pop-up appears right before the game goes full screen
Alt + Tab or Task Manager will give me a Black screen with sound.
Have to sign out of my account to stop the game.

when you have black screen, you should be able to alt+enter for windowed mode. that's true in most games. fix your fullscreen resolution options.

if that doesn't do it, sorry. i linked the 2k support above.

Did you try to verify files yet?

Another user in another thread claimed their Anti-Virus blocked the update somehow. It might probably just have been a bad update there, too.

game works fine if turn off smart firewall. firewall history not showing anything its blocking tho. seems weird
