Deploy Airplane
I clicked the DEPLOY button on a Biplane to see how that works. It makes the biplane circle which I guess is that it is patroling or whatever. But I cannot get it to stop. I looked everywhere I could think of, city, hangar, etc.., Not sure how to undo that.

I had this happen too. Move another unit onto the tile and cycle through the units. Should select the plane then.

That is creative and thank you. I guess I am never going to do that again, that's for sure.

Biplanes are useless. They do next to no damage to ground units and get shot down by most navy. They are only useful against other aircraft, but only fight other aircraft once horridly obsolete and are auto-killed vs fighters. So I never build any aircraft till I have bombers and just build those.

You can always find units with the unit list - select any unit and click on its name in the panel on the bottom right.

They can attack across mountain tiles.

I do wish planes were more effective vs ground units. Even modern bombers and jet fighters can bareky scratch ground units, which defies logic.

You can rebase deployed fighters if you want them to stop.

Yes, but they still get good XP from doing chicken scratch attacks.

You're only trying to level them up anyway, for their inevitable upgrade.

You'll need interceptors, once they fix this birthday party AI.

I'm not sure if I understand the mechanic correctly, but I don't find aerodromes and air strips that useful. You barely need one aerodrome to pump out units, and you can keep unlimited amount of fighters deployed all over the place. You can then re-deploy them from their current positions further and further (not sure if there's a limit there at all). In my game, I could also re-base them to my other cities that did not have aerodrome districts at all. Weird.

Oh no doubt, they're not useless. Any ability to project damage from a distance is great. But I would have liked the ability to rely on air superiority as an offense and/or defense strategy, not just a minor supporting role. (Like today's military for example...)

Yeah, aircraft slots seem kinda pointless, since you can deploy an unlimited amount of aircraft. (I believe they even stack in cities.) The only reason for multiple aerodromes is for airports & airlifting units, which is amazingly useful.

The aerodrome is not useless; it generates a lot of production.
