fractal map bugged
no matter what you do, you start it surounded, made huge with only 2 other civs and every single time, they started right next to me. ITS A HUGE MAP
Why the hell, of all maps, i just cant play this one. Hi there, yes hi, would love to sample your hospitality, next turn, WAAAAR.
For f'ing sake leave me alone you pests, barbarians are more friendly then you for crying out loud.
And did i mention its a huge map, there should be mass amount of space, yet all that space counts for nothing apparently ...
To make things worse, actually was so fed up with it i just declared war on ghandi moment i saw him few clicks north while the remaining civ, russia, few clicks west wanted to be my ally right of the bat, because he had the random agenda darwinism (loves people declaring surprise wars).
But it totally killed my intention of just being left in peace and build stuff.

What does one have to do to just build stuff and not start a world war that lasts for thousands of years? Fractal map sure is one to avoid no matter what size or how little civs live on it.

Its annoying as crap that the devs thought we should always be surrounded by a few AI just an arms throw from our start.

There is a mod though which I also use.

I wish I could tell you 'just bad luck mate, sometimes you start near AI's, sometimes you don't', but I can't because for some ridiculous reason the game's programmed to always have another AI within 10ish tiles from you, no matter the map type or size.

I have no idea why anybody thought this was a good idea. Because of this a lot of games give a 'boxed in' feeling very fast.

Oh didnt realise it was every map. Thats weird played continents with trajan and only arabia was sitting on south side while i started way up north and other continent had 4 civs.
On fractal however i just cant play it, its a guaranteed rush of warriors 2-3 turns in, also another civ somewhere gets eliminated very fast.
