But keep in mind, that many changes to the game are also applied to the already existing game (so that NF-Users can still play with Non-NF-Users), so even when you're starting the game with the DLCs disabled, you might still come accross some of those bugs. If you still get bugs while disabling the NF-Patch, you'll most likely get those in the Epic-version as well.
Again, nothing has changed on my end. I am using the same computer with all the same settings and variables that I used up through the first update without a single crash. So if it isn't on my end, it must be something to do with the Frontier Pass updates.
I am now thinking of setting up a new Steam account just for Platinum Civ and buying the key as cheap as I can find it. I understand from a previous post that I still might have some issues, but I'd rather try the game without any of the Frontier Pass upgrades - a clean copy I guess.
Updated graficcard drivers and stuff?
Honestly, it is the same. I create a new game with the same variables and the game runs fine for awhile. Some times the crashes come early in the game, sometimes later. With the frustration (especially when my computer locks up and I have to re-boot, restart Steam, etc.) I have just given up and have not been able to complete any game (I do use Epic speed, but tried a couple of games at Standard speed) since the second update from Frontier Pass.
I see cdkeys is offering Civ Platinum for $33 so I think I will get that and install it on a newly created Steam account. Then, after the next update, I'll come back and give it another go although I am not very optimistic.
I should mention that one of the features I enjoy of the updates is Apocryphal mode. I thought that might be the issue with the crashes, but I disabled that on games and the crashes still came.
Don't do this, simply deactivate NF from your dlc list in your configuration for civ vi
If make this don't solve your issues, buying a new copy don't go to solve it because that mean that the crashes come from the civ update and not from the dlc

"I'm reading post over at CivFanatic Civ6 - Bug Reports, that gamers without mods also have this issues.
And I had over 3000 h over DX12 gaming with over 100 mods running, and never had this magnitude of crashes. Yes, sometime my logs was littered with errors and warnings due to mods, but CTD with this EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION, came to light after NFP was released. My game started to crash somewhere in Medieval era, and could max play 10 turns without crash (Normal view, DX12) Then change to medium settings, Strategic view, DX11 and could play about 30 to 40 turns before crashing.
Then came the Nvidia hotfix 451.85, I haven't had a crash in 800 turns (3 different games). Running DX11, Normal view, High settings (Have 5820K + 1080ti) " ~ gyrofalcon
hope it fixes the crash issue for some people.
Yeh, I understand some people say this. Some just say, "I'm crashing" and provide no details. Some say they're using no mods, yet submitted saved games say differently.

Some won't give their system specs and crash details if we begged them.
So this worked for -someone-. Reinstalling the game, removing all mods, worked for -someone-. Neither works for -all-. I understand that, and have been arguing for days there are multiple causes for crashes because "crash" is a symptom, not a diagnosis. If we can get all the peoples' issues solved that have readily apparent fixes, we can narrow it down to the people for whom "nothing seems to work". Do you disagree with this process, or just want to fight me more?
If you want we can ♥♥♥♥♥ them till they get pissed off and leave the community... what do you say? lmao I mean they are some inferior peeps who dont deserve to be here, right? I cant believe that someone got pissed off because he cant play some game and start crying in here... geeez wtf did those dudes think by asking for help or made those meaningless threads?...
Up until Frontier Pass I think Civ VI and its DLC fit right in with all the others before it. I spent many enjoyable hours playing the game and interchanging the different variables. In past Civs I don't remember any upgrades or DLCs giving the number of problems like this one. The frustration factor is just too high to want to play the game now for me as it stands now.
I deeply appreciate your willingness to work with users and solve problems, but myself, I simply cannot identify anything close to the problem. Crashes come unexpectedly and often and really ruin the whole gaming experience.
I can understand how you would be upset with your designed process not really producing results - the crashes and complaints still come. I can just reiterate two things that affect my situation:
1. My gaming machine (yes, I use it just for gaming) has not changed at all since I purchased the Frontier Pass and downloaded the first update. My frequent crashes began only after the second update.
2. I have not changed any of my game settings or variables. I always play with a Random Leader on a Huge map at Epic Speed with the default number of civs and city states and tend to play the Pangea map. I have added (and subtracted) new features like Apocryphal Mode and Societies, but the crashes came before those. I had zero crashes using this settings before the second date and now I just cannot finish a game.
But that is my situation and guaranteed the next guy will have a different one. As I said, for me, I will somehow whether by disabling Frontier Pass or buying a new copy of Civ Platinum go back and keep playing without the FP features. I always read this forum and will keep doing so. I will boot up another game if it looks like the reason for the crashes has been identified and fixed. If not, I am happy to play without FP and I recently signed up for the MS Game Pass PC and my Steam game queue is very long.
Finally, thank you for your efforts and desire to help out the Civ community. Sometimes the efforts are fruitful and things get fixed - sometimes, well, they don't. There is always Civilization VII. At my age you hope you will still be around for the next Civ! ;-)
