Red Death not working? Stuck at retrieving host information.

I have Civ 6 Platinum both on Steam and on a separate computer on Epic. Red Death works on neither of those. Anyone else having a similar problem? Stuck at retrieving host information.

I'm having the issue too. I managed to get into a single game earlier today but every other time has gotten stuck. When I try to manually join lobbys from the game browser I just get a straight error too.

I have the same issue. I played Red Death back in April, have several achievements, The last few days I cannot get on either directly (stuck on Host retrieval) or through the manual internet connection (try to join a game and lose connection).

It's working now, not exactly sure why. I went into the Steam drop down in the upper left corner, clicked settings and open up all the categories. Did not make any changes, but something must have reset, I cam now play through the Internet portal.

Same issue. If you try long enough you might get a game. Is it part of the test? (t ? is a joke.) Next as we get in game ISP will go down. (I know my luck.)

I have never connected, always stuck in retrieving host retrieval??

I've been trying for the last few days and have exactly the same problem.

Tried disabling firewall and that did not work. I guess Firaxis have to sort themselves out.

I'm having the same problem, I've literally never been able to play this game. It always just say "Retrieving Host Information..." and that's it. Some people are saying they you can play if you create a game in a lobby but I only have a couple friends that even play Civ and none that have the time to all sit down together to play a game of Red Death.

Some games in the lobby are probably ghost entries, that do not work.

I manage to play the mode by either:

- Create a game yourself and choose "Battle Royal" mode (don't use the red link in the multiplayer section for this, just go into "Multiplayer -> Internet" and create a game), then wait for players

- Join another of the listed games in "Multiplayer -> Internet" that are of category "Red Death". Again: don't use the red button in "Multiplayer" for this.

I tried turning off Windows Firewall completely and even manually letting the following through both Public and Private, but Battle Royale just sits there at the RETRIEVINIG HOST INFORMATION... screen.
