Mouse pointer not visible

The game starts okay but the pointer is not visible. If I move the mouse randomly I can get the selectable icons to 'highlight' but the pointer is still not visible. I used the Steam menu option to check for videoo driver updates but still no luck. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

In other games this can be caused if your display scaling in windows was changed.
Right click on your desktop, chose Display
Then in the first option make sure the scale is at 100%

Go into mouse options and make sure mouse trails is off. Most of the time that is the culprit. Make sure the option to hide mouse cursor when typing is set to off as well, although it probably already is.

Most of the time the cause is either:
-Pointer trails are on
-A windows theme (like aero) with a thematic pointer is causing it in certain games.

Had this problem before, disable the Steam in-game overlay and it usually shows up again.

My cursor came back when I changed Civ VI to 'borderless window'.

Disabling Steam in-game overlay works for me. This bug came back :(

Windows 11: mouse properties>pointer options> uncheck Hide pointer while typing. Seems works for now.

Have the same problem. Right at start mousepointer does not show up.
Changing settings in windows has no effect.

Win 11-22H2 is set up fine. Civ 6 is the only software i have this problem.

Hi,

i found a solution. It is the graphics driver.
In my case, i tried some options.
Finally ii did uninstall my AMD graphic driver with DDU (Display Driver Uninstall).
As i installed the new 23.2.2 driver, the mouse is working fine again.

Sorry for necro, but I had this issue as well, and tried various suggestions found online that didn't work. What actually worked for me was disabling the intro video. I had already been running the game in borderless window mode, but that didn't fix it. Disabling the intro video did the trick. *shrug* Hope this helps someone.
