Domination Bug?
So I just completed a huge game as Norway, aiming to get through island hopping and Domination victory achievements, but the game didn't stop after I conquered the last capital, nor did it stop after I had every single capital legally ceded to me in the peace talks. In fact it only stopped when I conquered the very last player city, eliminating every single other player - but even then it was a cultural victory not domination. What gives??

Are you sure you didn't accidentally disable domination victory?

Definitely, the domination tab was still there in world rankings and as far as it reported I owned all 10 capitals and had completed - but it didnt award me the victory or finish the game

I've seen a thread where some one was complaining that he couldn't win science victory even when he had completed all requisities.

Happend to me too. I sent all the missions to mars and instead of my victory screen I got a defeated screen. Just to confirm that I didn't lose to any other victory condition I press the wait one more turn button to see the victory progress tab and sure enough all the other nations were not in a position to win.

this seems slightly.. gamebreaking? That was a Huge map and I conquered every city to try and win, I poured best part of a week into that game xD

This just happened to me too as I was gunning for the Island Hopping achievement.

Not happy spending two weekends for this. :(

It looks like one of the AI opponents failed to found their first city and was somehow listed as an Unmet Player for the whole game, so it was impossible to fulfill the condition of owning all 12 capitals as there were only 11.

So when I captured the last remaining capital (but not all cities) nothing happened, but when I wiped out the last opponent I triggered a Cultural Victory instead.

That happened to me with a Domination victory, just on an easy difficulty on a tiny map getting achievments. After taking the 2nd civs capital in only 1800 (roughly) I got a loss screen, despite the fact that there was only one Civ left and it was no where near getting a Victory. Little bit peeved about that.

I have the same issue.

Maybe adding city-states has corrupted Domination Victory? I see additional 2 unmet players, but whole map has been revealed.

Very disappointing, I don't think I would play CivVI soon. And I won't buy the "Rise and fall".

This has never happened to me but I read the thread and thought: is it possible that capturing the first settlers, when civs spawn too close at the beggining, is preventing the win condition?
In a game setup with 12 civs you need to "conquer all capitals" while code-wise the game probably reads it something like "conquer (12-1) capitals".
By capturing the first settler from another civ, they will never get a capital for you to capture and you won't be able to reach the 11 capitals goal...

There is a Capital that no longer belongs to the original owner. I had a situation similar to this where Japan was eliminated before I ever met them. They were no longer on the tree of leaders but I was still required to take his original capital to claim domination victory.
