LaunchPad.exe detected as a virus after update
When the game had been updated, I tried to start it only to get an error message saying "Access denied." Tried again, and it said a file was missing. Checked my antivirus in case something had gone wrong, and upon looking at quarantined files I find that steamapps\Sid Meiers Civilization VI\LaunchPad\LaunchPad.exe had been detected as a "Coin miner." Now I wonder... Is this a false positive, or is the game now being used to mine cryptocurrency?

Exactly the same issue here. My Anti-Virus alerted me with the same Launchpad.exe issue.

I confirm this. I use Avast in my case.

Yes there are issues with AVAST that must be fixed ASAP.

I had the same error. Verified the game files and it tried to update but I was getting disk write errors. What ended up working for me was closing steam, disabling my anti-virus (avast) and then re-opening steam. It was then able to update correctly and the game seems to be working fine for me now.

My avast came back with IDP.Generic. I closed steam, turned off avast then reopened steam and ran a file integrity check, which came back with everything is fine. Turned avast back on and game launched normally with no virus detection. This would be a confirmed false positive.

Also when i start the game, it gives me a Ransomware alert, using AVAST premium security, it says that is trying to modify a file in my documents, should i be worry?

Keep in mind that the file path to game settings is located under documents folder, specifically, "..\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI" in windows.

Yea, so ignore the AV alert. The game is just updating its settings.
