update: ive booted it,turned off every mod and DLC,reloaded it multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled, tried both 11 and 12 visual modes (DSX i think its called?),and even booted a game and then quit instantly. not a single New Frontiers civ, gamemode, leader,or option shows up.
ive literally just spend 40$ for some fancy words and the feeling of owning what boils down to a non-picture NFT. how the actual ♥♥♥♥ do i fix this and play with New Frontiers?
I did not say "no inland trade is bad". I said impossible city state quests are bad.
It's just bad design to give impossible quests for the player. This would be quite easily avoidable if the designers would pay some attention to these details.

EDIT: Also wouldn't hurt if the remastered version have 3 exclusive new leaders for existing Civ 4 BtS Civilizations, so all trait combinations are actually used.
