I concure. Also people should always keep in mind that communism (Marxist) is an economic sytling and not a form of government. It is completely feasable to have the democratic republic* style government we have while also having a communist economy. Also, we are not capitalist... we are a form of socialism called Free Enterprise.
*Democratic means anyone can vote; Republic means we vote for people to represent us in government. If we were straight Democratic, every person would vote directly for every policy and law that would be passed.
Communism in of itself is a fine idea its just incompatible with the human race as of now.
I agree to an extent. Communism hasn't been used on any major nation with a stable and strong econmy (like the US). The Soviets and the now the Russians, have never had a strong stable work force / economy. I think the degree of Social Loafing will be less than that of other nations if a major power today switched, but it would be present none-the-less
production boost, military boost
democracy in civ 6 does nothing to help any victory along, what extra points? by the time you get it you should already have a few souvereigns unreachable for other civs, its a waste to go democracy. Only thing i can think of to choose it is to have better relations with ai that took democracy but they so eratic i really couldnt care less anymore and rather take communism and squeeze out another turn to build spaceprojects.
But it's important to note, that none of these in-game government choices mean a hill of beans.
You could randomly change the names of any of these governments and swap slots around all day long and it would still be Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
This is not a good representation of real world politics. It's just a simple board game.
You can throw any of these governments at me and it would work. I'd still win the same way, with the same strategy, against the same incompetent AI.
Government names and slots mean nothing. They are just for show.
Not intentionally ignoring you, I assure you... but I might referrence reality comparing it to game.
To answer your question (The OP), in my opinion... Communism in and of itself in reality, as designed on paper, is set to make a perfect society where everyone is equal in it's populace. As mentioned here, when you take theory from paper and apply to the reality we all live in, it comes down to people. If everyone honored and partaked their part in society towards communism, it would work and be more effective. However... not everyone does their part! Therefore the loss of balance in the system will eventually cause the system, and the society supporting it, to collapse. Mostly!
However... take that theory, plug into a game, with preprogramming of game code, where everyone in the digital society within the game program does as the society chooses, the coding allows the society to be viewed as succesful! Also, this up to the player of the society!
There are exceptions...
...and to correct you, one exception is China! People's Republic of China, a communist party, China is considered one of the most influential Societies in today's world. Their economy is obviously one of, if not (regrettably admitting), the top economy, of the world... as they own most of America's (USA) Debt! Their military and influence is finally catching up as well, with the support of strong economy supporting advancment in research.
Will this last?? We shall see!!
