Buy the Plate Edition as a gift
"Because the contents of Sid Meier's Civilization VI : Platinum Edition are personalized for your account, it cannot be purchased as a gift."

Why would Steam do this? Is not all games personalized to your account? Seems very stupid way to handle sales because I would like to give this to someone as a Gift without having to run through hoops.

Any Suggestions?

Send your intended recipient the money as a gift and have them purchase the platinum edition themselves.

Or use a different store then the Steam Store...
