I've always only chopped when I need it though. Far more often I've chopped early in the game and found myself with nothing to chop midgame when I have some things I want to finish quickly to take advantage of timing.
The overall result is I still chop for important things but much more of the scenery will remain intact in the endgame.
It was a nerf, but it was really more of a bugfix nerf. Chopping overflow was never intended to work as it was in regards to all the bonuses. I think it is now working how they originally intended. (minus the actual nerf to Magnus from 100% down to 50% shortly after R&F first launched)
Agree with your overall result and that is the same chopping strategy I use as well.
Oh, I thought they said chopping and sea level rise were connected. Don't think I heard that drought was connected to that. I thought drought was just an RNG event.
Ah, thanks!
