Great Work screen: how to pick up and scroll?
My Gorgo game is getting a bit out of hand and I have so many wonders and museums that theming is becoming a nightmare. The Great Work screen is rather small, so it is possible to scroll left-right to view all the building locations with their slots. However, scrolling while trying to move painting A on the far right (e.g. your capital) to building X slot 2 on the far right seems to be impossible. You either pick something up or you scroll it seems :(

I tried using the mouse (pick up object+move) and the arrow keys (scroll), but that doesn't work. So far I used a work-around splitting up collections mixing them newer objects and re-theme again. It is a bit tedious this way though and it seems silly.

So, tl:dr is it possible to pick up a painting, archeological object, etc and scroll the screen?

PS. I tried the search-thingy, but most topics are on more basic questions regarding Great Works

It used to be, I think the recent patch messed with things though. You used to be able to just pick something up and mousewheel scroll.
You can no longer "pick up" things, instead you have to "drag-and-drop" them. So you have to mouse-over an item, click and hold the left mouse button, move the cursor (and the item) to the destination, and then release the mouse button to move (or swap) the item.

While you are dragging an item it is possible to scroll the window with the mouse wheel, which should allow you to move or swap items that are not visible on the screen at the same time. I haven't tried scrolling with the keyboard.

Hopefully they will revert to the previous behavior or adjust the UI to better accommodate the new behavior, because the way it works current feels like a UI quality downgrade.

Lol, I never thought of the scroll wheel... silly me :)

Thanks for your answers, it worked like a charm!

Greetings - Black$mokeDMax posted alternative yesterday in another thread --> there is a setting in Options-Interface to choose click vs drag/drop.
