I made a standard-sized map and saved it using the steam cloud. When I tried to import it, I couldn't find it anywhere. It wasn't even in the worldbuilder directory. I quickly created another world and saved it into that directory without using the steam cloud. When I tried to import this one, it wouldn't show a saved map as well. I hope anyone has a solution, because it just cost me 3 hours of work...
For regular map saving, the map will save to the Worldbuilder directory located here:
\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\saves\WorldBuilder\
Make sure to label it ahead of saving by adding test strings in WorldBuilder by clicking the button in the upper-right-hand of the WorldBuilder editor. Otherwise it will show up in your "Choose Map Type" list as "Untitled Map".
Once saved, exit to the main menu, click on Single Player, then Create Game, and the map will be in the "Choose Map Type" list.
I'm saving in the right spot then (Awesome!)
It was a save from before the update, that i resaved after editing the upper-left-hand (upper right is in-game menu and Advanced mode buttons) to specify map name. It did not appear in my games list as "Untitled Map" either, it's not there at all. I retried with making a new custom map, did all the requred steps, and that too did not work.
I'm correctly looking under single player->create game->choose map type
I have tried veryfiing files, but that to does not work
