Canada deity games experience
It is really too hard to win a deity level game as Canada. I think Canada needs buff in the next release.
here are my game experiences as Canada.the game usually starts with default settings except deity difficulty.
1.domination victory, the most direct way,for several times. after 160 turns ,the nearest enemy still stands. The enemy keeps opening emergencies and dragging other Civs into the war and I keep denying it.After my diplomatic favor exhausts, the peace agreement offer was accept. Without any advantage, the domination victory is obviously not an option for Canada.
2.culture victory.the possible and Utopian way.After study the feature several times,the National park maybe the key to victory. Use Ice hockey rink,city park(Liang,the Surveyor) and forest(built by worker on tundra) to improve the appeal of tundra and snow tile, then use Mountie to build National Park.Then I tried this method and found it an Utopian way. Because other culture victory competitors took wonders and Great People very fast and win the game before Canada National Parks take the lead.However in lower the difficulty games, this way leads Canada to a victory.

Canada headaches:
1.No advantage before industrial era.Canada do has a little advantage to prevent a surprise war before Medieval Era, but once Canada establishes an alliance (with civil service researched),other players are able to attack Canada through declaring surprise war toward Canada's ally.So Canada is not safe after medieval era in a single game, no need to mention team played multi-player game.
2.Canada has some advantage after winning emergencies, but no advantage in the process of winning it, neither in conquering other player's city nor in getting most great people point.It is a little bit ridiculous.
3.National Parks is kind of advantage to Canada, however to achieve culture victory needs a large amount of if. That , require a large exclusive tundra and snow land,lots of hex tile planning and appeal counting. This is really a heavy burden 'cause Canada need lots of settlers,workers and territorial planning work.

In general, Canada's feature is late and week, it need buff.

I guess 2K still has more work to do in designing Canada empire.

Thanks for the feedback. I am not a deity player, so there is always something to absorb. However, AFAIK, no one can declare surprise war on Canada ever.

I agree Canada's decent advantages come too late in game to make it a strong civ. It doesn't make it "bad", it's fun to play. It's just not a top-tier with Aztec, Sumeria, Nubia. Although, with the new resource limitations, I'm not sure any of the GS civs really are.

Yeah Canada is no Rome.
I'm currently doing a deity Canada game where I build tons of holy sites in the tundras with that tundra pantheon. The religious conquest is doing great, but this is nothing unique to Canada. The only Canada ability that has been useful so far is the cheap tundra tile purchases, but that's kinda eh.
