Battleship Armada ratings.
Can someone please tell me what the ratings should be on a Battleship armada (3 combined battleships)?
I ask because my fleet was damaged when I merged them and it only want from range combat 80 to 87, Anti air stayed at 90 and health stayed at 100. That doesn't seem like much benefit.

Thanks in advance.

but that's not how combat works. the attacker's net combat strength including whatever bonus/penalty vs defender's combat strength, then a semi random roll. so a unit with 80, let's just say an unpromoted, undamaged destroyer with str 80 will do less damage to something with 70 vs something with 60, and that could be 15-20 less damage per attack.

similarly a 50str caravel may damage a 60 defensive melee strength by 8 or 10, but just "bounce off" a 70 defensive melee str with only 1 damage inflicted. the caravel would, in the latter case, sustain very heavy damage in its attack.

so it's the same amount of health but what's modified is the mitigation.

Corps/Fleet adds +10 Combat Strength
Army/Armada adds +17 Combat Strength

17 from corp/fleet (2) or 17 from single ship? I assume 17 from single ship since it only went up by 7, unless it was due to the damage. Also health doesn't go up? 3 ships die just as fast as one would?

The damage does not affect combat strength directly; being damaged applies a penalty in combat (which varies based on how damaged the units is, and other factors).

The numbers Imhotep listed there are the increase compared to a standard unit. So when you combine two units you get +10, and then when you add in a third you get another +7 to the strength of the two combined units.

I have a slightly related question: what happens with promotion levels when you merge two units into fleet/corp?
And can you apply Great Admiral with trait "gives 1 promotion and 100% of exp" to fleet? What will happen?

IIRC promotions from the most promoted unit are kept. So if a battleship has 3 promotions and you merge it with a fleet with 2, the three of the battleship are kept for the new armada. (this needs a check, doing this from memory)

Regarding the Admiral, those apply to a unit. An armada or fleet is just as much a unit as a single ship. So it works in the same way. It gives one promotion and x% experience to the fleet or armada.
