Here's one: many people are reporting that when they woke up on Christmas Day last year, gifts that weren't there the night before were under their Christmas tree.

As far as I'm aware it closes after launching the game, so it cannot have a big impact on your CPU. I have no idea what happens if that doesn't happen and how it affects your system then.
In Win10 go to Settings, Network and Internet, Windows Firewall, Advanced Settings, Outbound Rules, New Rule, choose Program - browse to LaunchPad.exe, and select Block the Connection.
