What's the Point of Great Writer's
You have so many in the game but writing slots for them are so hard to come by. This should have been fixed with the last DLC.

Slots are numerous. Two every time you build an amphitheater, the first building in a theatre district.

Oxford University and the Great Library give extra slots, too. I'd like to see more Great Artists -- the AI civs in one game I played were grabbing them and not using them, so you couldn't get any in trade.

Numerous?

That's only enough for one writer. I have 6 sitting around doing nothing.

Oh. I thought it was 2. Tell them to write something while they’re sitting around.

It's 2 slots but a Great Writer produce 2 to 3 Great Works.

I never had a problem getting enough slots. They might stick around for a few turns while I complete an Amphitheater but never got to the point of having that much Writers waiting for a slot. All your cities have Amphitheater? How many cities you have?

If you really cant get slots, you can sell Great Works, I think the AI pay a small fortune for it.

Trade some of your writings away already and then use up your writers that are doing nothing! That or build more cities, you will soon enough run out of writers when you get to the end game era and can't get anymore great people.

Trading them away helps the other civ's with culture and tourism. I don't think it's worth the trade off.

I have 6 writers, an artist and a musician. So I have to build 6 more culture districts.

You know I did a test playthough game where I basically collected every single great work by getting every single great person and building enough cities for them all. Don't ask me how I did it because I forget lol (editing some of the files so I could purchase them or something I think). But I did have the mod that turns off other civs.

What am I getting at? Oh yeah, I remember I had to build a crap ton of cities and it took a LOT of time and work. So I can totally understand your frustration, epsecially with writers. I think I had to build a handful of extra cities just for the writers since there were plenty of slots for art and music.

If you are not going to build future cities I would just delete them and forget about it. Just take it as a good sign you have your culture generation in a good place. :)

Sell it to Civs that aren't leading in domestic tourists. Domestic tourists are generated by accumulated culture, that's the only way other leaders having more culture affect you, so as long as you don't help the Civ that is leading or a Civ that is close of leading, it won't affect you. Giving them more tourism also won't affect you, unless you think the AI might actually win cultural before you do.
