Can you raze Free Cities?
I just had another civ plant a new city on my borders. It rebelled after just a few turns and became a "Free City". I took it with a few units but could not raze it?

It wasn't a capital and I wasnt at war with the civ that made it. I had the option to keep it or give it back to the other civ?

Is this intended? Or did I run into a bug?

There really should be an option to remove/raze cities.
Anyone know?
Thanks!

I know previously, in one of my games, after keeping a free city free, not taking it into my civilization, besides the free city acting like a barbarian city (all the units were constantly attacking my stuff), once I went and conquered them (it never went past 1 pop), I had the option to liberate to a previous civ, raze it (which I did), or capture it.

So, yes, I was able to raze a free city.

I had confused about what you said, until I realized that you meant 'raze,' not 'raise.' I didn't get any option to raze either. Either keep it, or keep it free I think. It rebelled so I doubted it wanted to go back to whomever it rebelled from.

BTW, it's 'borders.'

Was it burned to the ground?

Sorry I mean "raze"! I am not english by nature. My applogize!

When I took it by force, it had 3 options,
- Keep
- Raze (This was grey and couldnt be picked)
- Liberate to previous owner

Has anyone been able to raze a Free City?

Have you taken a Free City by force?

I honestly don't see why it's considered rude or terrible to correct one's spelling. If nobody tells you that you keep spelling a word wrong, how would you know that you're spelling it wrong? You will never learn that way, and you will keep making the same mistakes. I -want- ppl to correct my spelling.

I will never understand why this is considered bad at all. You should be happy that someone was kind enough to point out your errors, instead of staying silent.

I was talking to scottkbeers, not you. He said I was a jerk for being helpful. You're one of the few people who are nice about it. By the way, it's 'grateful.' Other than a few words, your English is pretty good :3
