Same. Just got Rise & Fall. Menu sounds work, load into a game. Music plays. No sound from cities/units/fights. After track of music finishes playing, no more music.

It's not a game breaking sort of bug/glitch, but it is immersion breaking, and makes the game ten times less enjoyable to play if you have no sound.

Only get this after about 6-8 hours of continous play, ie mid late game, it's like the games resources start breaking down, unit animations, district animations, sound fx and music, voiceovers in leader screens. The usual.. Crashing on exit. Dx12 version seems more stable generally, but on that I get black marks on map sometimes switching between the two map settings rarely after leader screens exit. But it's all in late game usually or after hours of play, not right at the start of the game.

I'd suggest verify files, reinstall video and sound drivers, the usual, but I doubt it'll fix it, just seems to be Civ these days.

I found my issue. Apparently if you’re using a map pack with a bigger map it was stopping my game from playing sound once the game actually started. So I just started using smaller maps from the mod and it started working fine again.

Same, sound cuts out after a little while, either 10 minutes or 5 hours or anywhere in between, it's kinda random. Contacted 2k they had my run a list of issues, reload drivers, verify files, run as admin. I thought the problem was fixed when I ran the game as admin, but after a couple days it started doing it again.

It's so weird, usually the music is the first to go, then it's like the sound effects are off, or eventually all sound just completely cuts out.

This is Rise and Fall specific, original Civ 6 didn't do this

just a note, sound goes thru your video card.

need lots vid memory I think, and updated drivers. newer cards work better of course.

I am having the same issue. Many of the sounds stop playing in mid-game. Didn't have this issue with original Civ 6. Seems to be Rise and Fall related.

Code errors were observed in the March 2018 patch. Could there also be a code error which causes the sound to go ‘OFF’ in the later stage of game which till now has gone unnoticed. Sound is very critical in the gameplay. Hope someone will detect where this error are and create a mod to resolve this issue

I find sound issues with every game I play. Very repeatable.

Wow this is old. Yes i answered it myself: "I found my issue. Apparently if you’re using a map pack with a bigger map it was stopping my game from playing sound once the game actually started. So I just started using smaller maps from the mod and it started working fine again."
