In fact, even in ginormous maps the game can hardly handle, Loyalty turns Europe into a mess (if you play Europeans...of which there are too many in Civ VI so chances are you will).
In fact I am playing an insane game on The Ancient World RN -> https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1201247503
(FYI IDK if anyone has a machine powerful enough to play the 199x198 map. So perhaps start with Oceania or The New World).
That map looks quite cool will try it out.
Only problem is there's to much ice/snow even on a Hot climate map. Anyone now how I can reduce that?
Well I found the fix for ice.
I wasn't northen Africa was not a weak starting position geography wise. Central Africa however is very uninhabitable poor farming conditions etc.
Now i'm not expecting them to get the geography perfect. But it's annoying when Island nations are severely nerfed but central african nations excel.
Everytime Kongo starts in TSL Earth they dominate because of massive city pops.
For a location that in the real world struggles with food it annoys me Britain/Japans start sucks so bad.
But as somebody above said Europe in general in R&F is a pretty poor start position. Which again historically triggers me greatly. ^^
China,U.S,Europe should be the strongest start positions in TSL.
I find true start earth maps boring because there's nothing to discover/ explore
