Well, it was too little too late; India took over Muscat. My GPT has been cut by at least 60%. Maybe I rely on Trade City-States too much for my economy, or maybe I should defend them better. I don't know.
That's one of those mechanics this game lack that seems obvious that should be there but so far nothing. Maybe next patch...
Yeah, it could just be added to the discuss tab much like when the AI spies on you or settles too close. I hope developers took note of this and will apply it in a patch some day. It would be appreciated.

Should of got a Protectorate out of it
It's extremely annoying and it happens almost every time I play the diplomat and actually try to use the alliances mechanic. And I almost always play to gain city state suzerianty.
Just another example of a broken game.

This works very well. And if my tech is ahead of the attacker, once I do this I can upgrade the protectorates units so that the attacker doesn't have a chance in hell of winning.
