It's been well-covered in the Mac thread. It's not known exactly when it will come out, but after Windows, and hopefully not very long (weeks, maybe months).

unbelievably disappointed by this. Woke up early to play to just find out I am unable due to being a Mac user. They should put that literature up SOMEWHERE in their announcements besides on the minimum requirements page. definitely will be the worst news of my week lol :steamfacepalm:

Aspyr have no said they are targeting late March for the Mac release, but obviously no promises.

Given the last few patches/DLC, I would guess that Linux release will be the same time as Mac.

Pretty disappointed that the dev team didn't make this a little more apparent to Mac users. Glad I spent over two hours trying to fix this non-downloading "glitch" today.

Note the steam store page lists only windows as a compatible OS

Yeah this sucks. Pre-ordered, waited to play, and to find out it was only a windows release. Time for a refund. Hell with this.

I'm in the same boat. I sent in a refund request then continued a vanilla campaign that I had been playing. I wake up this morning to find out that Steam rejected my refund request because they think I played the expansion! I'm really frustrated with them. Are they going to make me purchase it again when the mac version comes out? Is anyone else in the same boat?

No, you won't have to purchase it again, it's Steamplay.

You can't have the refund because they can't tell whether you were playing the expansion or not - as the refund policy states, for DLC it's about how long you spent playing the game once the DLC was available in your account.

Thanks SamBC. Yeah they rejected the second request too. I suppose it's not money lost because I would buy it anyway when it comes out in a month or so. I'll just think of it as a pre-order.

Grrr still a little frustrated, but I'll survive :)

Yeah, mac user also, disappointed. I do have a Windows partition on my iMac but still not a fan of this. Much prefer Paradox Grand Strategy games...when they release a DLC, it's out for Mac at the same time as Windows.

Probably would be here as well if it were the same devs. Firaxis makes the game, but only for windows. Their publisher/owner (2k, then above that Take2) then have Aspyr, a different dev, port the game to Mac and Linux. Kind of a strange setup. Now there is of course the iOS version as well. Wonder if they'll do android to top it off.

I have been playing the expansion on Windows but only because there is no Linux release yet. I use Windows for two things, games that are not on Linux and Visual Studio. I would much rather be playing on Linux and makes me wonder why they still developing windows first and then paying a third party to port it when they could have gone multi platform to begin with. It was bad enough with the Linux patch being delayed by months but for the expansion pack to only release on just one platform just makes the company look bad.

It clearly states for Windows only. Took me 3 seconds to realise why it wasn't downloading. Two hours is hilarious.
