Does AI cheat for Great People?

I can't understand how AI is getting great people before me, like gret general I have 770 points from 1635, I generate 16 per tun they generate 3, If I want to buy it I have to pay 13K gold or 6,5K faith, next turn AI with 500 points get that person, it repeats quite often so does ai generate like hundreds of gold and faith(would like to know from what) per turn or what? I would understand if it was more civs doing it but it is alwys 3 civs who suddenly get great persons and no they didnt build wonders to get certain person.

No, the AI don't cheat in Civ VI. Depending on the difficulty you're playing they get some bonuses as you can see in the link below but if the AI spent gold/faith, it's because they had it.

If its a great prophet, some wonders can give you a free great prophet (or any great people of your choice) without the need for great people points or gold. Think I've used it to get a late religion before. dont remember if it was in civ5 or 6. Dont remember what wonder it is.
