Save Files Wont Load
I was playing this morning and noticed that the game was moving uncharacteristically slow, so I decided to save my game, exit to the desktop and relaunch the game. Upon relaunching the game I went to the load screen to find ALL my save files ad autosaves to be unloadable. The load option is grayed out and not clickable. I closed the game again and verified the local files. Also tried disabling windows defender to see if that would help. Files still aren't loadable. This happened once before and I was unable to find a solution and ultimately just started a new game (which saved and loaded fine). Any ideas what might be happening here? Thank!

Hi Everyone,

There was an issue that was fixed around August 7 around ~6am PDT that should've resolved most issues. If you are still experiencing issues where mods are not appearing and you have verified the integrity of your game files ( see https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335 ), then please create a support ticket so we can get your Steam logs.

If you've manually deleted files in the steamapps\workshop directory, then things can get out of sync with the data stored in the appworkshop_289070.acf file, which caches away information on what mods Steam thinks are installed. In that case, you may need to delete that file and restart your Steam client.

is it like Giant earth map ? I had the same problem, but as I did read on a forum someone restarted their computer and it sorted its self out and reloaded the mods.

So I just tried it and it worked for me atleast.

I've had huge issues today... a bunch of subscribed mods have disappeared from my list making all of my saved games unplayable... i'll try the restart thing and hope it works.

Somehow the Steam client update today screwed up a lot of things. Now the client downloads the mods AFTER I unsubscribe, yes, UNsubscribe.

Maybe I'm stupid?

Thanks, just tried the restart and no change. Just a large, pretty average map (8civs, 16 city states)

adambure86, look at the save file in the loading menu and check what mods are flagged 'red', then unsubsribe from them (one by one) and resubsribe after Steam did it's thing. Worked for me.

The problem reasserts itself randomly. I've gone through and re-subbed to hundreds of mods, got it working, only for it to disappear my mods again after a save.

I see a lot of issues with people with Rimworld mods disappearing/acting funny today as well. Another workshop triumph!

It's too bad Valve can't sink just a hair of their billions in profit into workshop upkeep and, dare I say, new features/improvements.

It's an issue that began today as far as I can tell. Workshop items (mods) are being removed but not unsubscribed to (check your Steam Downloads for updates). You have to unsub and resub to get them back although the fix is only temporary. You can play offline until the issue is resolved on their end.

It began last night when Valve pushed a Steam client update.

So all of a sudden 3 mods deciding to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up
Yet Not Another Map Pack for my awesome TSL games, Crazy barbarians, and Real Tech Tree have been working JUST FINE for weeks since I got back into Civ6.

Now all of a sudden my games are blocked from loading because the saves are redflagged for these 3 mods. They are Subscribed and Installed, game files backed up and verified etc and all the accompanying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam requires, but I can't get these mods to show up in my in-game Subscriptions page.

Just yesterday when i got the game to work, I could see them in Subscriptions in Civ6's Additional Content, but they weren't Installed. Then they Installed mysteriously.

Now they show as Installed but not visible on the Installed page, but the Subscriptions page shows them as Subscribed and Installed. Damn game.

There seems to be a Steam wide issue with mods being deleted after they are downloaded. Which means they are probably not where the game is expecting them.
A moderator of this forum has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
