How do you know if a city has access to fresh water?
I would love those aqueduct bonuses, but sometimes I can't tell if a city has access to fresh water. I know the dark green is fresh water if you build a city on it. What if you forget? What if you take over an opponent's city?

If it's next to a river, lake, or oasis then it has fresh water. Otherwise it doesn't.

what about after you have already built the city, how can you tell then??? The settler lense only shows red around existing cities!

Is it next to a river, lake, oasis? If yes, there's fresh water.

Check the city panel... select the city, choose the left-most icon from the actions and it will open the city panel on the left side of your screen. All sorts of information there, divided over several tabs.

There is no info regarding access to water, only info about housing from water and the value varies in cities... I have 3 in one and 5 in another. Can't fgure out why one city has 3 - there is river starting ackwardly on a tile next to it, so I have no idea if it counts or not...

Housing from water is water access. Different access gives different housing. I'm pretty sure you can also just mouse over a tile and it will tell you if it is a river or not in the popup.
