Is yield even a thing? I thought all you needed was access to one and then you can build as much as you want that requires that resource.
He is referring to the yield of the tile. If a tile has 2 food and 2 production and you put a citizen on a tile, that city gains the food and production of that tile. The situation you are talking about, the district/wonder erased the yield of that tile so you dont get that yield. You still get access to the resource
Yields are what gives you production, science, food, culture, faith.
Those things allow you to do things in your civilization. WIthout production, you're not getting anything build.
So those yields are important. Strategic resources, besides providing the resource, also give a bonus to the tile yield. That yield further improves when you improve a strategic resource.
By having it pop up under a city, district or wonder, you do not get that yield or the chance to improve. But you do get the resource itself.
OK now it makes sense. Thank you. :)
