Can't purchase Platinum Bundle for myself because I have the base game. Duh.
In the current weekend sale it's £8 more to buy the expansions and DLC than it is to buy the Platinum Bundle which includes the base game, the expansions and the DLC. But I can't buy the Platinum bundle except as a gift because I have the base game.

This is daft.

I pay more for the privilege of having already bought the game?

Anyone know a workaround? Otherwise I'll wait until another sale.

I haven't been able to confirm for certain, but I remember seeing similar situations arise with other games in the past. In those cases, the user had to remove the license already associated with their account before they were able to purchase the bundle they were considering.

Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to find any of those discussions, so I cannot say, for sure, if doing so would resolve your issue.

Platinum Edition
For those who have Civ6 vanilla (no expansions / DLC), what is the price of Platinum Edition? Do you get more discount for owning Civ6?

No, if you already own it, you cant buy the Platinum, your locked out of it.

It’s not a tailored bundle.

usually Steam's bundle sales show which items are allready in your library and their price gets deduced out of total but if this bundle was "wrapped" by publisher it might not be that way

check the platinum bundle's price and add the listed prices to see if there's a difference

That seems like unnecessary fiddling. I'd like to know if it works before trying it.

I notice someone has put in a request to 2K and Firaxis to have an 'upgrade to Platinum' option, which would be the best solution (and should have been obvious when they created the bundle).

Just adding up the numbers doesn't tell the whole story. Don't forget to include in your comparison the value you've gotten from having been able to play Civ VI since you bought the base game. People who buy the bundle at a discount might pay less money, but they also haven't gotten that value.

I'm sorry but that upset me alot. Dude I've paid that value in the price of the base game at least twice IMO. I mean it was like 60$ for the base game only. And now I cannot even compensate that with the sale. wtf

Sorry for upsetting you, that was not my intent.

You say that you paid $60 for the game, but haven't gotten more than $30 of value from it (rewording your words to make the numbers more straightforward). My question is: then why do you want to throw more money at the game? Spending more money on a game you don't enjoy isn't likely to suddenly make it fun. Better to spend the money on things you know you enjoy, or at least on things you think you might enjoy.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Obviously, your decision is yours to make.

You quoted my post and then said "that upset me a lot". I thought the thing that upset you was my post you quoted. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
